BLUEFEST 2003 ~ Proposed Itinary ~ Open to suggestions August 1st, 2nd and 3rd
- Welcome to the first planning stages of this years BW-Stress get together, Bluefest 2003. We hope to see many of you there and are open to any suggestions to make this 2nd year's reunion a success.
- We would like for everyone who is comming to be here by Friday, Aug 1st. If your flying in, the nearest airport is Lambert International in St. Louis, Missouri.
- A carry in pot-luck supper friday night would be nice with a chat-around the bon fire to close the evening.
- Breakfast Saturday morning is coffee, juice, and breakfast rolls, following, a tour of the Mark Twain Dam's Visitor's Center and a tour down inside the workings of the Dam.
- Then, weather permitting we will then head for a day at the lake with swimming and boating. If you have a cooler and want to bring some soft drinks or light snacks that would be fine along with any floatation devises. If you have small children PLEASE bring life jackets for them. (we have enough for the boat).
- Late saturday afternoon we will have games and fellowship with a bar-b-q.
- Dancing, pool playing and singing will round out saturday night just up the street at Rays North 40 Bar. (its within walking distance, no driving needed).
- A farewell breakfast at The Rustic Oak resturant located in the heart of Mark Twain Lake area is on tap for sunday morning. (the place we went to last year is booked up) Its just 7 miles away and after eating we can all return to Blues' house for pictures and goodbyes.
Please feel free to bring along a tent to set up in the yard or you can make reservations at The Landing. It is a nice resort type cabin or room style place and just 7 miles away from Blues. You can reach them by calling:
#573-735-4242. PLEASE MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS EARLY....they fill up fast here. (and with everyone in the same place no one gets lost ) You can view the resort at: www.marktwianlanding.com . Rates are: motel rooms at $45.00 per night (two double beds) and fishing cabins that sleep 2,4 or 6 at $55.00. Lakeside cabins up in the air on poles are $70.00. There is a mini carnival, put put golf, resturant, fast food, fishing pond and a pool there. A water park is within walking distance with rates around $15.00 a day. - These plans are not set in stone.....so if you have any other ideas let me or gracie know...however as it stands now...on limited time this may be all we can do.
